Come into a world where the moon is made of cheese and your task is to dodge craters, missiles, and other inhibitors as you go about making your cheese collection from the moon. This world is the world of Cheese Miners, the latest iOS game developed by teenage-developer Jonah Rubin. Before you strap-in and begin mining, let’s get a bit of a background on the game and its developer.

Jonah Rubin has been a developer for about five years now. Rubin’s first application was an Android app known as The Decider. The app assisted individuals during any decision making process. Rubin next developed The Confoundry, a social network for puzzle enthusiasts, and a mobile website for the American Journal of Psychiatry. Cheese Miners is first iOS app for the Niwot, Colorado-based developer. He has another (called Polarity) scheduled to launch before the end of the year.

Due to Cheese Miners being Rubin’s first rodeo with iOS gaming, he received some assistance from the gaming incubator MakeGamesWithUS. You may remember that we discussed a bit about MakeGamesWithUs a while back after my interview with the co-founder Ashutosh Desi. MakeGamesWithUs’s other co-founder, Jeremy Rossman has commented on Rubin’s work, mentioning of how he “represents exactly the type of game designer we are looking to collaborate with: young, talented, focused, and creative.”

Cheese Miners is available for free on the App Store.
