As an entrepreneur, one of the biggest challenges once you have a product is gaining user adoption. Wikindu, founded by 19-year-old Buntu Redempter aims to solves this problem. Wikindu is a very simple concept: to connect startups with potential users via a daily newsletter. Everyday Wikindu features a different startup as well as occasional special offers or invites. Wikindu aims to create a win/win for the entrepreneur and user. The entrepreneur receives free web visibility, while the user gets information on products that may useful.
Over the past month of using Wikindu I have been especially impressed by the variety of startups that have been featured in the newsletter. Startups have ranged from Artsy Editor, a WYSIWYG editor for WordPress to Bre.ad, a promotional URL shortener. The newsletter gives a very brief overview of the product and a screenshot of the site. The newsletter also includes Facebook and Twitter buttons so users can connect the newsletter to their friends. Wikindu also features the ability rate and review the products they feature on the site.
Going forward Buntu hopes to continue to help startups get discovered and gain users. He also hopes to help users discover startups with minimal effort. Furthermore, Buntu wants to create a community where users give startups feedback on their products. With almost 100 subscribers Buntu is definitely on the path to achieving his goals with Wikindu.
