After much delay, Sony is announcing the Sony Ericsson Xperia 10 will be coming to AT&T August 15th. The world has known about the Xperia since last November, and Sony has taken a long time to release this phone. The Xperia will be available from Sony for $130, AT&T for $150 (Black), and Amazon for $49.99 in a couple of weeks.

The Xperia will be equipped with a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, an 8.1 megapixel camera (LED flash), GPS, and a 4-inch touchscreen. Sadly the device will be running Android 1.6 with a few Sony apps on top. The phone has 8GB of internal memory and comes with a 2GB memory card.

I guess if you’re looking for a cheap Android phone this will suit you well. I would indeed hold out for Amazon’s pricing in the next couple of weeks. There is no doubt in my mind this phone will be very speedy, but I just don’t believe Android 1.6 has much to offer. Watch YouTuber Jon4Lakers’ unboxing of the phone below.
