Among all of Apple’s announcements today, one of the bigger ones was the news of the updated Mac Pro. The new Mac Pros are 50% faster then the last generation models, and are going to be great for video editing, and graphic design, among other things. The Mac Pros have been known as being one of the easiest Macs to customize, and the latest Mac Pro is no exception.

The new quad-core Mac Pro packs a 2.8 GHz Intel Xeon processor (8mb cache), 3gb of RAM (expandable to 16gb), and a 1TB hard drive. This thing is blazing fast, but wait Apple is going to step it up even more. The new 8-core Mac Pro packs two 2.4 GHz Intel Xeon processors (12mb cache), 6gb of RAM (expandable to 32gb), and a 1TB hard drive. These are the preset packages by Apple, but if you want to up the game, you are open to do so. Apple offers a way to make your 8-core Mac Pro a 12-core, with either two 2.66 or 2.93 GHz 6-core Intel Xeon processors. You also have the option of putting in four 512mb solid state drives or four 1tb hard drives. Like I said before, this is the easiest Mac to customize.

The new Mac Pro will be available in August through the Apple Store, Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers, with a starting price of $2,499.
