World of Goo is a very imaginative game. It will have you addicted until the final credits. There are two main parts to the game, the story mode and the World of Goo Corporation mode. In the actual story mode you try to get as many goo balls as you can into a vacuum. The concept doesn’t sound to hard but the game gets harder upon each new level reached. The core concept for building in the game is to make sturdy structures out of elastic goo balls. Throughout the game, you encounter different types of goo balls. There are four main parts to the game, the four chapters and an epilogue to finish off the adventure.

The other part of the game is the World of Goo Corporation. This mode is basically free play, not just for one because of the multiplayer online mode full with competition and adventure.

I really disliked the volume controls in the game and the ability to change the resolution. Overall, it’s fun getting to know the slimy goo balls. I suggest trying the demo here. Hope you like it!

By now, I am sure that you have a twitter account or you have heard of twitter. I have used many different clients for the Mac, but out of all of them, I have my favorites. They are Twitterific, twhirl, and TweetDeck.

1. Twitterific

Probably the most popular Twitter clients on the Mac. Twitterific offers a nice and simple interface in a translucent black window. One thing that I like about this application is that it supports a various number of useful keyboard shortcuts. Twitterific also supports Growl notifications. Overall it is a great app that has a great eye-catching interface. The free version of Twitterific does display ads.

http://iconfactory.com/software/twitterrific

2. TweetDeck

TweetDeck is an Adobe AIR based Twitter client that is in public beta. This application allows users to view different information in different types of columns. One great feature in TweetDeck is the ability to rearrange and group people together throughout twitter. You can basically monitor anything within twitter. I have one issue with TweetDeck, it is a memory killer

http://www.tweetdeck.com/beta/

3. twhirl

Twhirl is also an Adobe AIR based application. It is not only for the Mac but it is also for Windows. A couple cool features from twhirl are spell check, Twitter search, and the ability to record videos on Seesmic and share it on Twitter immediately. In my opinion the interface is not as eye-catching as Twitterific’s interface.

My favorite is Twitterific. Which client is your favorite?

Sorry for the long break. I have been saving up money for a couple of months for a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DLSR) camera. Lately i have been very interested in photography. I ended up getting a great deal from B&H that was a Nikon D40 + 55-200mm lens for a cheap $510. What a great deal!

Lately I have not been able to go and take photo walks, but i plan to go more often. For the past month where i have been able to use my D40, I have to say it is great. It is my first time owning a DSLR and I could not be more happy. It is a perfect camera for a beginner.

It’s that time of year were everyone tunes into the Macworld Conference and Expo. What will Apple release this year? Sadly, this will be Apple’s last year at Macworld. And Steve Jobs won’t even be presenting a keynote, instead There have been rumors circulating about the iPhone Nano, but I doubt that there will be anything related to the iPhone this year. Here are my predictions:

What is probable?

Mac Mini – Total redesign. Aluminum glass finish like on MacBooks. Apple needs to bump up specs and lower price for the Mac Mini to be a viable computer.

Snow Leopard – I think it will will be prominent at Macworld. Apple will release the ship date and the price which will most likely be the price of Leopard.

iMac – Apple really needs to give the iMac a spec boost. In my opinion the iMac won’t get a new redesign.

MacBook Pro – The 17-inch model will get a redesign to look like the aluminum 15-inch MacBook Pro

iPhone 3.0 – The new software update for the iPhone. It will allow cut/copy/paste and MMS.

Never…

Netbook/Tablet – Apple making a cheap and small laptop. My response, never.

So hopefully Apple makes good choices at Macworld 2009. My anticipation is Snow Leopard. I would really like to see it and how it looks like, cost, details and etc.

I recently purchased a new MacBook and i thought it would be a product to review. It has been my primary machine for about three months. I got the lower-end model for $1,299.

Specifications:

2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

160GB Hard Drive

2GB DDR3 RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics

No FireWire or DVI?

Unfortunately, the new MacBooks do not have a Firewire port in them. I really do not mind the loss of FireWire, but to video editors it does matter. Also, instead of a DVI port, Apple put a Mini Display Port in all of the new MacBook/MacBook Pro Models. This new Mini Display port can only be connected to the new Monitor that Apple released. Another smart idea by Apple.

Machine

The screen is stunning. I like the glossy display because of the vibrant color. I think that the black border around the screen makes the screen pop out. The MacBook is a really sturdy machine. The aluminum unibody is built tough. Also, you can access the hard drive and battery very easily. Just pop the clip and then there you go. The battery light indicator is very handy dandy.

Overall

I am very happy with the MacBook. It is extremely fast and sturdy. The battery life lasts a long time. I give this MacBook 4.5 stars out of 5. If you are debating on buying one- buy it! Don’t hesitate to buy it- it’s awesome!
