By now, I am sure that you have a twitter account or you have heard of twitter. I have used many different clients for the Mac, but out of all of them, I have my favorites. They are Twitterific, twhirl, and TweetDeck.
1. Twitterific
Probably the most popular Twitter clients on the Mac. Twitterific offers a nice and simple interface in a translucent black window. One thing that I like about this application is that it supports a various number of useful keyboard shortcuts. Twitterific also supports Growl notifications. Overall it is a great app that has a great eye-catching interface. The free version of Twitterific does display ads.

2. TweetDeck
TweetDeck is an Adobe AIR based Twitter client that is in public beta. This application allows users to view different information in different types of columns. One great feature in TweetDeck is the ability to rearrange and group people together throughout twitter. You can basically monitor anything within twitter. I have one issue with TweetDeck, it is a memory killer

3. twhirl
Twhirl is also an Adobe AIR based application. It is not only for the Mac but it is also for Windows. A couple cool features from twhirl are spell check, Twitter search, and the ability to record videos on Seesmic and share it on Twitter immediately. In my opinion the interface is not as eye-catching as Twitterific’s interface.

My favorite is Twitterific. Which client is your favorite?
There are a lot of new ones that have appeared the last few weeks. Eventbox is interesting but I find it too bloated.
I really like Nambu, which is still in beta but I think it will end up being the winner. It has most of TweetDeck’s features, including groups, except it’s a native Cocoa app. My favorite iPhone twitter client, tweetie, is coming to the Mac. It’ll probably be a choice between those two.
Nambu has the power of TweetDeck and a much better look. Tweetie for the Mac is going to be awesome.
