I recently purchased a new MacBook and i thought it would be a product to review. It has been my primary machine for about three months. I got the lower-end model for $1,299.

Specifications:

2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

160GB Hard Drive

2GB DDR3 RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics

No FireWire or DVI?

Unfortunately, the new MacBooks do not have a Firewire port in them. I really do not mind the loss of FireWire, but to video editors it does matter. Also, instead of a DVI port, Apple put a Mini Display Port in all of the new MacBook/MacBook Pro Models. This new Mini Display port can only be connected to the new Monitor that Apple released. Another smart idea by Apple.

Machine

The screen is stunning. I like the glossy display because of the vibrant color. I think that the black border around the screen makes the screen pop out. The MacBook is a really sturdy machine. The aluminum unibody is built tough. Also, you can access the hard drive and battery very easily. Just pop the clip and then there you go. The battery light indicator is very handy dandy.

Overall

I am very happy with the MacBook. It is extremely fast and sturdy. The battery life lasts a long time. I give this MacBook 4.5 stars out of 5. If you are debating on buying one- buy it! Don’t hesitate to buy it- it’s awesome!

There is a DVI, you just need Mini DisplayPort adapter. :) Get it here. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB570Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MjkyNjI0MQ
