Announcing The Teens in Tech miniConference!

At Teens in Tech Networks, we’re fairly well known for our conferences and events. We’ve had two successful conferences in San Francisco, and we want to do more. Part of that effort is to bridge the gap between our main events in the beginning of the year, with what we like to call “miniConferences.” So, today I’m really exited to announce our first ever Teens in Tech miniConference happening September 11, 2010 at Kicklabs in San Francisco.

HTC EVO 4G And Droid Getting Android 2.2 “Froyo” Next Week

HTC EVO 4G And Droid Getting Android 2.2 “Froyo” Next Week

The Sprint HTC EVO 4G device, and the original Droid, will be getting Android’s latest operating system, 2.2, codenamed Froyo, next week. Until recently, the 2.2 version of Android was only on the Nexus One, with plans on shipping the operating system to other devices. Users will be able to download the update through Android’s “over the air” feature starting next week.

If you’re feeling risky though, you can download a beta of 2.2 to the device, through HTC’s site. Once you’ve downloaded the update, you should save the file to the root of your phone’s SD card, boot the device in recovery mode, and select the option to install the update from the .zip file, and that should do the trick!

Welcome to the new Teens in Tech!

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been hard at work preparing for the launch of the new Teens in Tech. Today, that day comes, and I’m very excited to welcome everyone to Teens in Tech. If you remember from just a few short weeks ago, Teens in Tech was a blogging platform. Today, Teens in Tech is content written and produced in-house here at Teens in Tech. There is a huge gap in the market for youth produced content, as well as covering startups and projects by young entrepreneurs alike. We hope that Teens in Tech will be that place for you to check out the latest in startups, as well as news from the industry.

Mini Segways Ready For Pre-order In Germany

We’ve all seen those ostentatious, big-wheeled, Segways rolling around beaches and promenades, and we have either thought they’re awfully gawdy or simply amazing. If you think they are a bit flashy, you might be interested in the latest product from an underground German company called Ewee. They’ve basically made a poor man’s Segway. It’s “the Segway’s little sister”, and it’s brother was an Atari 2600, and it’s called the Ewee PT (personal transporter). You accelerate by leaning forward, and lean back to decelerate, but turning is controlled by its joystick.

Starcraft II: My First Impressions

Starcraft.  Maybe you’ve heard the name before?  If you consider yourself a so-called “gamer,” I should certainly hope you have.  What many refer to as the greatest real time strategy (RTS) game of all time was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and first released in February 1998.  Many reiterations of the game have followed, including adapted versions for the Mac OS as well as the Nintendo 64, released in 1999 and 2000, respectively.  Brood War, the game’s first official expansion, was released November 1998, and was generally well received. Since that time, Blizzard has allowed the game to progress and grow on its own, thanks to its solid player base.
